Mindless Drones
Hello again, and welcome if you've freshly subscribed - against your will orotherwise. It's my 3rd or 4th day in london, I can't remember exactly, and Ihave already accomplished the grand task of navigating the extensive tube andbus network around the city and am proud to annouce that I have been asked fordirections 3 times already (none of these times I was able to be any helpwhatsoever). The title of this email refers to my opinion of rush-hour tube-traffic - all silent and direction-full (the opposite of directionless), andvery much like robots all filing in and out of the trains and stackingthemselves up on the escalator. I felt as though if I yelled, or stepped out ofline, I might be arrested or shot or something equally as absurd.Today I went to Hyde Park. I think that I was the only person there who wasn'tin a family group or a couple. What's with london being coupleville? That's sounfashionable. Anyway, Hyde Park is big and green and nice, and I think that Icould fall in love with it.So, to sum up, keep it short and avoid losing readers - my time in london hasso far been very domesticated and rather unchallenging, but I think that mightbe a good thing considering I'll be all over the place (both literally and inmy head) for the rest of the year. I can't stop myself imitating people'saccents, which I'm not sure if people find rude, and I think I want to havekids who have english accents.LoveSophie
So totally in another country
Hello, and welcome to sophie's exclusive email service. As she is currently inlondon, and has been for the last 7 hours, it seems appropriate to informeveryone that she is well (apart from her progressive left-eye blindness) andis staying with one red-head in tooting, in a funny little townhouse with aplot-style garden-thing out the back, where you can totally look over thefences into other people's gardens, tsk tsk. sophie has been awake for the last40hours straight, after more than 24 hours of flying, and is avoiding Sleepwith a metal stick and a keyboard.sophie
